Student Computing Checklist

Below are the recommended computer specifications for students purchasing new computers (PC and Mac). For additional information and guidance, email LIS staff.

For all computers: it is highly recommended that you consider investing in a four-year, on-site hardware warranty when you purchase a new computer.  This will ensure that you have the least amount of down time in the event of a hardware malfunction.  By choosing an on-site warranty through your hardware manufacturer, you will have the added benefit of hardware service whether you are in the middle of your academic year or you are home for the summer.
